David Bellion is a French forward who made forty appearances for Manchester United between 2003 and 2005.
Bellion was born in Paris in 1982. He began his football career at Cannes and then, in 2001, moved to Sunderland. He spent two seasons at Sunderland, before signing for Manchester United in June 2003. (His transfer to United was surrounded by a certain amount of controversy as a result of ‘tapping-up’ allegations.) He made all his Manchester United appearances in his first two seasons, then spent his third on loan at West Ham United and Nice. He signed a permanent contract at Nice at the end of the 2005-2006 season. In his youth Bellion was a talented athlete and, during his stay at Manchester United, his speed was one of his greatest assets.
Bellion represented France at under-21 level.
